When one watches The Indian or Pakistan teams, or for the matter, any sub continental team, play hockey, one is struck by the elegance displayed. Players like Prabhjot Singh, and Rehan Butt, stand out, as did Shahbaz Ahmed, and Md. Shahid. The ease displayed, while playing Hockey, by these teams, draws appreciation, and inspires the players, yet further.
What the Indian and Pakistan teams are to cricket, conversely, the respective teams are to Hockey. The Indian Team plays with a raw instinct, while the Pakistan Team is elegant. There are magnificent players like Gagan Ajit, too, who defy comparison. He may be lackluster on one day or dazzle like in the 4-3 victory over Pakistan, in the memorable Champions Trophy match.
